How the Duct Designer Works
The duct designer is PMX Ductwork's online configurator for custom sheet metal duct fittings. You describe the fitting, it draws the part and prices it, and you order from the same screen. Every fitting is made to order in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Pick a fitting type. Choose Straight, Elbow, Tee, Wye, Transition, Reducer, Offset, Cross, Plenum, Boot, Sq to Round or End Cap in the Type menu. Set Shape to Rect or Round on the fittings that come in both.
- Enter your dimensions. Type the inlet and outlet width and depth, or the diameter for round, plus the length. Some fittings ask for more, such as elbow angle and throat or the offset distance. Dimensions are in inches and accept quarter-inch steps. Pick the joint for each end.
- Choose material and gauge. Material is galvanized steel, aluminum or stainless steel. Gauge is 26, 24, 22 or 20.
- Check the drawing and the live price. The preview and the price are recalculated each time you change a value. The Image, CAD and ISO tabs switch between a 3D view, a CAD drawing and an isometric view.
- Add to cart. Click Add to Cart to put the fitting in your cart at the price shown, then configure the next fitting or go to Checkout. To get the quote by email instead, use Email me this design / Get a quote.

Which duct fittings can I design and price online?
The Type menu covers straight duct, elbows, tees, wyes, transitions, reducers, offsets, crosses, plenums, return boots, square-to-round fittings and end caps. The Shape setting switches between rectangular and round on the fittings that come in both. Each fitting is entered at your own dimensions rather than picked from a fixed list of sizes.
Is the price in the duct designer the real price?
Yes. The price shown is calculated for the fitting exactly as configured: type, dimensions, material, gauge and joints. It is recalculated each time you change a value. When you click Add to Cart, the fitting goes into the cart at the price shown. You can also use Email me this design / Get a quote to have the quote emailed to you.
What materials, gauges and connections can I choose?
Material is galvanized steel, aluminum or stainless steel. Gauge is 26, 24, 22 or 20. Rectangular ends can be raw, slip and drive, fold-out, double fold-out or DuctMate flange. Round ends can be raw or crimp and bead. Change any of these and the drawing and the price are recalculated for that configuration.
